Points Race#2

This week we were finished by 11:50PM!! I want to thank the staff and all the racers and fans for their help in making this a very successful and enjoyable event. The weather was perfect and the racing was better. We had some awesome first time winners and all the races were full of excitement and sportsmanship.

I want to also thank all of our new racers and new visitors to ARP. I finally got to meet Carla Burkman and her family from SEMO raceway. Carla does the Photography and the Website at SEMO and it was so great to see her family finally be able to come and join us for a race. If Anyone knows the work load to make public all that goes on at a track event, I do,  and Carla being able to take a little time away from all that was appreciated, and we do hope they get a chance to come back. Son Cordie finished a very respectable 4th in his heat and 8th in a feature with a total of 15 Aqua Sportsman Champs. And top that with the fact none of them were lapped karts and all within 7seconds of each other. He did awesome!!!

But it was the "G-Man", Garrett Carroll, driving the #37, who won the Aqua feature to take his FIRST feature win at ARP and he has been reaching for it for over 4 years now. Garrett was one of the first two ever sportsman karts out at ARP and he stuck with it and now the load of getting his first win is off his back. Congratulations go out to Garrett, I am very proud of him as I have known him for quite some time now.

And what about the purple Champs?.....The story plot could have not been written any better. Last race it was Parker Dye in the #D4 taking the victory. Parker has been reaching for that win for a long time and his racing friend Hunter Wilbanks who drives the 10W, was able to reach out tonight and grab his first victory in a very emotional win for sure. Happy racers and happy families and very well deserved so for sure.

Our Survivor Series Race was the unrestricted Junior 3 class. I missed most of this race dealing with a problem, but it so awesome to watch the finish as Derek Hagar, who drives the #8JR, ran his line time and time again and got the well earned victory. This class has really started to shine with the talent stepping up race after race and Derek's win is an awesome one for sure. Way to go Derek!!

Happy birthday to Gavin Bishop and he got his present, the first place trophy for the Novice Champ Class. Did you all see that little Rage Sportsman Champ kart? That was so incredible. It gives our younger racers yet another way to begin racing safely at a young age. Our sport is headed in the right direction, and YOU all are a part of its growth. Be proud of that, your kids will thank you one day!
