136 Entries!! Awesome. We had 16 total in the two novice classes alone. Its amazing to watch the sport changing as it is; young racers moving up into bigger rides and very young racers coming into the sport eager to learn and be a part of it all!

Add to that some OLD veterans making their marks in the tracks history. One in particular, Mr "Hello Walls" himself, Buster Hanson, grabbed his first ever feature win this race and it was total excitement and an uproar of support when the checker flag came down in his Over 35 race. He even tried to climb the fence like some of the NASCAR guys do. it was a special moment, and a special memory that will be hard to beat for the moment of the year. Congrats go out to Buster and all his crew for this highlight moment of the season!!

It was also Cameron Hart's first victory and he took the checker in the Novice Sportsman Champs.  Blake Archer first win at ARP came in the Junior Novice Class.

And what about David Davidson's impressive showing in the Animal Junior class. First time in the Animal at ARP and he dominated the race.

We had a computer problem during the 40 lap Survivor Series Race that cause a little delay but it didn't seem to bother Lee Thompson as he went on to take the 40 lap title.

It was a good night, a lot of new racers, and new winners. On a personal note, it was a double first for me, two of my grandkids made their first race, both of them in the Novice Sportsman Champ class. Grandson Ryan Malone in the #87, and granddaughter Kelsey Moss in the #88. Ryan came in 7th, and Kelsey came in last, but both were grinning ear to ear about the fun and experience that they had just gone thru. in fact Kelsey told me later she felt so great it was as if she had won. Its amazing how pure innocence can bring out the true meaning of why and how we look at what we do.  It also makes us wonder where the fun and excitement goes after a while in some peoples eyes, as I think they forget too soon what its all about. I know I wont soon forget the evening for sure and a lesson taught to me by a 6 year old girl who could have cared less where she finished.
