It was the year 2000, also with a bow in her hair, and she was in a place she loved. At the race track with her dad as he drove the tractor doing the prep work for the next event. All she knew was she felt at ease in this place of dirt and strange noises. She loved being there. She played in the dust that the past weeks racers created. And she loved riding the tracktor with her dad. Her first laps on this surface were just the beginning.

Over the next few years the routine was the same. She would spend many many hours on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights watching her dad create the magic he did so well in making the track a super race facility. She and her little brother would play in the infield, ride the water truck and tractor, and ride their bikes on what would one day would be the scene of pure intensity and competition between the two of them and many of their friends.

Over four years ago she took her first laps. It was her dream, to race like her dad did. And now it was her time. It was not easy. It is not supposed to be. Her first season saw her airborne up and over the guardrail, on just her second ride, but even though she landed hard; the thoughts of maybe this was not what she wanted to do were soon over come by the inner, driven, desire; to be on that racing surface once again.

And four years later, she is becoming a champion; following in the footsteps of her many time champion dad. She started with a bow in her hair, and now she wears a slight smile, the look of determination, focus, and confidence and yes, an ocassional bow. This awesome young lady has come of age!!
