| A Personal Note
From Danny..... This past week, we lost a very special friend, and track owner. Ms Emilie Schwerin, wife of Dutch Schwerin, and mother of Dallas, Colt, and Savannah, died at her home near DACOSA speedway. I had the blessed honor of knowing Emilie, and attending AMB scoring school with her in Atlanta last year. She was an awesome lady who loved kart racing, and loved her family and was able to combine the two together to help create and produce DACOSA Speedway as one of the best new asphalt tracks around anywhere. Her strength, compassion, and love for our sport will be missed. The karting community has lost someone special to us all. Emilie's work and dedication has helped strengthened our sport for years to come. Please keep the Schwerin's in your thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time for them. -Danny |

Ok, I am supposed to say something about this night of racing ...something positive? The racing was awesome as usual. The computer crashing on the first run though, did not go too well in my scheme of things for sure. Why did it crash? Whose fault was it? Does it really matter?... All I can say is it *may* be fixed now. I hope so anyways. But we shall see this coming weekend when we do this all over again. In fact we are going to do this 7 out of the next 8 weeks. But Ill get back to the racing results. When you look at the winners, you see a lot of familiar names but, some of them really stick out as being special. NO....they are *all* special but , take for example, Morgan Turpen in the Jr-1 Class; that young lady drove a near perfect race to take a victory in what has to be one of our most competitive classes. She has really become a force to deal with this season and we congratulate her on her accomplishments for sure. ....And how about the Aqua Champ Class? Troy Dow led most of this race and he held off time and time again by him too running a perfect line only to get squeezed out near the end by Corey Ray. But it was a full class of 15 racers who made this an awesome race for sure. They all deserve congrats on this race. Cody Burks returned to the winners circle once again with a new setup and colors and we all know seat time is what counts and he was out at the track on Friday night getting that seat time during our open practice. Cody had a special request of me to dedicate this win for "Skip" who is a brave and strong family member who Cody and Todd care a lot about. Skip is going thru a rebuilding time right now and Cody wanted this win dedicated to him. Good luck to Skip and congrats go to Cody. I know if I keep naming names I'll leave off so many who deserved to be recognized. The season is finally winding down and now its crunch time in the points battles. If you go look at some of the classes, you will become aware just how competitive and close these racers are. It is going to be quite an awesome finish to this season.
Well if it *was* her birthday, I have to cover my bases and say Happy Birthday Ms Tucker, and if it wasn't a birthday celebration.......well they both seemed happy so I guess they must have found what they dropped???...ya think? But we should watch this couple closer in the future??? Thanks again for your continued support and we will see ya on the 28th of September!! -Danny |
