115 Entries. Perfect Weather

It was a night of great racing, with cool temps and the dew became a major player in the late stages of the feature races.

First time ever in a race, young Cody Quarles driving the 33p entry in the Novice Champ grabbed a victory he will  never forget. Can you imagine, winning your first ever race? Well he did and congrats go out to Cody and crew. I think Cody was driving a borrowed kart for this race, and if you look closely I added his name to the side of it for this win!!!

Before the race I told the crowd about Ashton McLeod, who drives the #11 entry in the Aqua Champ class; and the fact he has two broken wrists, injuries he suffered in a recent foot ball game. I was kind of shocked to see Ashton even trying to drive wearing a hard cast on his right arm and a soft one on his left, but not only did he drive, but he took the victory in the Aqua Sportsman Champ class. As far as determination goes, none was as determined as this young racer. I ask him on the grid if it was hurting him and he said no, but it looked so uncomfortable and yet he drove to a win. All I can say is totally awesome!!!

In our Survivor Series Race it was Jason Moss driving the #73 Senior Champ to a 40 lap victory. It was a great win for Jason and crew. Rumor is Jason may be retiring and focusing on his two new drivers on his team, daughter Kelsey and next season, son Tanner.

The highlight of the night had to be the Junior 3 race, and the driver of the #48, Ricky Graham. Coming back from broken bones  two years ago, Ricky has shown a lot of courage, and more so, a lot of hard work and determination. Of course, we all like to feel the unmistakable feeling of that first victory, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone as happy and as deserving as this young racer was this night. I got to spend a few moments in the celebrating pit, and his whole team was so elated about his win. And they had a sound right to be proud and happy, because a lot of hard work had gone into this teams efforts, and the moment had arrived and Ricky had grabbed it securely. He had spent countless hours on the track practicing, getting the needed seat time and tonight, it rewarded him with a race he will never forget. Word is, he has a new addition to his room at home, a well deserved checker-flag! Way to go Ricky, awesome win!!!!!

It was the little guy who always is smiling, Taylor Moore taking another victory in the Rookie Sportsman class. Rumor has it that Taylor is about to make the move up into the Junior 1 class.

Lindsey Prewitt held off a hard charging Dustin Stagen to take the Purple Sportsman Champ victory.  And taking his second win of the season, it was Dillon Wooley driving the #3 in the Junior Novice class.

Repeat winners tonight were Mitchell Bridges in Stock Heavy and Stock Medium. Wade Massey took two first place wins in the Super Heavy class and in the Over 35 class.

David Davidson took his third win of the year in the Animal Junior Class, and it was Cody Caldwell, driving the # 9 to a hard charging victory making it two in a row in the Junior two class. This was Cody's 8th win in this class this season.

Mark Pasino returned to the winner circle in the Stock Lite class; that makes his 4th in this class so far. Justin Rochelle has been looking for another victory in the Junior 1 class all season since winning the opening race last spring. Tonight he got it as he drove a very good race to take this win.

In a very demanding Junior champ race, it was Austin Billops taking the win. This race was a rough one from moment one. Some nights it just seems that its to be that way and tonight it was the Junior Champ class.

It was a great night of racing. We had several racers from Dacosa, and we had some new racers from Arkansas, one being Larry Powell and son Cooper. Larry and I have swapped a few emails back and forth and I was glad he got to visit our track and do hope they return soon.

As always the real story is behind the scenes, and its best told in pictures, some of which are below. Dad's, Mom's, Brother's, Sisters, and crew members, and just regular friends. It is what its all about at ARP and we do thank all of you for your support and choosing to race with us.
