Senior Stock Over 35  (14)

Roger WilsonOur next race was the Senior Stock Class, and this is the class that will have their Survivor Series Race at our next event on August 24th.

Roger Wilson made it two in a row when he took the checkered flag for his fourth time this season. He was followed by, (2)Sonny Ivy, (3)Jeff Ragsdell, (4)Ronald Dix, and (5)Darryl Dickerson.

Junior Sports Champ AQUA (6)

Corey RayIn what had to be one of the strangest outcomes of the night it was Corey Ray taking the feature win after a delayed decision to let us look at the rules and score sheets to determine the outcome.

Derek Medlock led most of the race until the last turn when contact was made by the #10 kart, driven by Austin Billops, who had been driving a very intense race with Medlock from the very first lap. This was a clean race as viewed by officials, but the contact on the last turn resulted in a decision that gave the win to the #29 kart, driven by Corey Ray. Medlock crossed the line *backwards* after continuing from the spin but crossing the line gave him the second spot. It was Dillon Knight in third, Ryan Bounds in fourth, and Austin Billops in fifth.

Junior Sports Champs PURPLE (12)

Scott TutorOnce again the purple class gave us some awesome close racing in our Junior Sports Champ entry level  class.

Taking his sixth victory of this season, it was Scott Tutor driving the #5 entry to victory lane. Scott was followed by (2)Garrett Carroll, (3)Ashton McLeod, (4)Josh Ray, and (5)Corey Chapman.

We are very very proud of all our Junior Sportsman Champ entries, for making this class such a success.

Junior 2  (12)
The Survivor Series Race!!

Mark PasinoOur Survivor Series Race of this night proved to be just that. One of the most exciting races of the night, and one of the most hard fought for races, went to the #3M kart driven by Mark Pasino, for his third win of this season.

The remaining top 5 were, (2) Phillip Higgs, (3) David Harkness, (4)Brent Rowell, (5)Derek Hagar.

For the first 28 laps, driving the #24, Justin Carver held off an very hard charge by the #25 of Jordan Meyers, and the #3M of Mark Pasino. Meyers and Pasino traded the second and third positions back and forth while Carver led the field. But on lap 28, Carver blew a head gasket, and started to fade and Meyers took over the lead with Pasino in hot pursuit. Pasino took the lead on lap 33 when Meyers got in lap traffic trouble, and Mark Pasino drove to a very well earned victory in our 40 lapper of the night. Phillip Higgs, in the #83 entry, was close behind taking the second spot. Awesome racing by all.

Our congratulations go out to Mark, and his mom, who have brought back this team from a very undecided future early on in our season to a very consistent force as the season is unwinding. Mark struggled with an early fuel leak in the day and had the composure to overcome this and drive to a very deserved victory in our Survivor Series Race.

Awesome Mark, simply awesome!!!

It was a great night of racing. We had some minor problems, but they were dealt with decisively, and quickly.

Averaging 140 karts per race so far this season,  has been an awesome display of the integrity of the racers, race fans, and the track operations.

We will continue to offer our best to you, and we do appreciate your continued support.

We have new formats in store for the 2003 season, with some added races to be announced in the very near future.

Our new scoring tower will allow us to offer the fans and racers even more dedication to making your experience at ARP an enjoyable one.

I can not say enough, to show my pride in our young racers this season. Their sportsmanship both on and off the track has been awesome, and the respect they show our staff and me personally, has been outstanding.

ARP has and will continue to strive for a  *family* atmosphere, where fun, excitement, and sportsmanship will be our priorities.

We will enforce the elimination of negative language, and attitudes, at our facility. We understand, in the heat of the moment, things and emotions can get out of hand, but at the same time, we all need to step back and witness who may be listening and watching, and learning from our actions.

Once again, thanks to all our racers, race fans, and families who have supported ARP thus far in 2002.
