The Strange Track Surface and the COLD North Wind

I was puzzled at the least as to what happened to the surface of the track on this day. It took quite a while to figure out the whole picture as to what happened. Simply put, we had way too much rain on Thursday and not enough time to get it all dried out, by race time. We had disked up the track over night on Friday and it still didn't dry out completely, and that's why it was softer than usual. The dry conditions on Saturday were fueled by he cold north wind, drying the top 1/4 inch into the harshest sand like dust we have had all year. We needed calcium bad to bring up the buried moisture, but none was available so we wet it prior to the final round of practice and it held a damp surface all night.

Don't even ask about how cold it was, it was miserable on the scoring stand!!!!

It was an intense 40 lapper in our Survivor Series Race with the #34 driven my Ty Jones taking the checkered flag Ty took the lead on lap 31 from Daniel Valley who had dominated the lead from the green flag. Congratulations go out to all the stock light class and to Ty for his hard earned victory.

Congrats also goes out to first time winners Randy McCullough in the Modified Class, and Tad Earhardt in the Novice Class.

It was Gary Boggan winning in the Junior 1 class and Samantha Gargus taking the Junior 2 checkered flag. 

Mitchell Bridges won the Junior Stock class, and Harry McDowell won the Over35 Class.

Tracy Valley won in Stock Heavy, and it was Jason Moss winning the Champ Class.

Sammy Billingsley took a provisional in the Super Heavy Class.
