Race Results

First off I would like to thank those who contributed to our first go at collecting contributions for the Ronald McDonald House. I didn't talk about this opportunity the other night as I was very busy with the full qualifying and the new format of the full qualifying.

This is a very special place with very special people dealing with very unusual and very trying circumstances. But the thing that sort of connects Atoka with the RMH, is the fact that the people who stay at this wonderful place is just like the people who race at our facility, they are simply families, dealing with a side of life a lot of us only hear about.

I have decided to hold the contributions we received the other night till after the banquet, and take them up there the days just before Thanksgiving. Childhood diseases do not observe the holidays and what better way to express our support than to donate our gifts of love during the holidays for those families and the kids dealing with a horrible disease.

Please see our website page http://www.atoka-raceway-park.com/rmd_house.htm for more info and visit the Ronald McDonald House web site for a look into why this place is so special!!!

Arie GravesWe didnt have but one Novice Junior, and it was a new competitor, first time on the track, Dustin Belton. So Dustin rode in the Rookie class and did real well too. But the feature winner tonight was Arie Graves driving the #05 kart to a first time victory. We want to welcome new racer Jacob Clements to this class.

Dylan CollverIn our Junior 2 Feature, it was Dylan Collver taking the feature win. Dylan is a regular Junior 1 racer but next season he plans on moving up and he tried this class out tonight ands took the top spot. Both the heat and feature went caution free as Dylan led all the way to this victory. A very good race!!

Gary Boggan!!!Another great story of someone moving up into a the next level of competition. Driving the #90 Champ kart, tonight he took it to the next level and entered it in the Senior Champ Class, a class he hopes to participate next season.  It was Gary Boggan, Gary and Builtwiser's Roger Wilson!!!driving to a top qualifying spot, AND taking both the heat and feature wins over a very good field of Senior champs. This is going to be such a competitive class next season with more Juniors expected to move up in this highly competitive class.

Dustin Dickerson!!!In the Stock Medium class, it was Dustin Dickerson driving the #14 taking not only the win in the feature, but the top qualifying spot, and the win in the heat race as well. Just a little over 2 1/2 seconds behind Dustin was uncle Darryl's failing effort to catch his nephew before the checkered flag dropped. No cautions in the feature or heat made this a great race start to finish!!!

In our Stock Heavy Class, it was an all Builtwiser equipped with an all Enik Engines, competing together for a feature win,. In the End it was Enik Sanders himself, driving the borrowed #362 to a well earned hard fought victory. I was not able to get a picture of Enik but this was an awesome race indeed!!!!

It was a special night for one driver in the purple class of our Junior Sportsman Champs. It was a first for one more driver. First off, Gavin Bishop, who had never rode a race with other karts yet, decided instead of getting lone seat time in the Novice Sportsman Class, he decided to race with the big boys in the Purple Class. And he did just that, and managed to handle himself very well in and out of traffic. He did good.

Collin Stephenson!!!!But the story of the evening was who won the race and how he did it. Collin Stephenson has not rode to a feature win yet, but tonight he drove flawlessly, in and out, and around traffic and you could tell he was on a mission to take this victory. Starting on the outside of the front row, Collin took the lead on the very first lap and never gave it up. Collin, Mom, & DadThis was more awesome due to the fact we had NO caution flags, for the entire 15 lap feature. This young man drove his heart out, stayed out of trouble, and brought this victory home to a very enthused group of fans all over the facility. Way to go Collin, awesome....simply awesome!

Brent Rowell!!Another class that will see moves into it from some of the juniors next season, is the Stock Light Class, and tonight, it was Junior 3 competitor Brent Rowell, testing the waters and finding he could do well, in fact he took this victory very deservingly so with an awesome performance. BRent Rowell!!Rowell qualified in the #1 spot by 1/100th of a second, finished second to Dustin Dickerson in the Heat, and retook the lead in lap#5 of the feature never to look back from that point on with his sub-twelve second times he is so noted for lately.

Jeff Ragsdell!!!Putting icing on a very good year was our feature winner in the Over 35 class, driving the #5, Jeff Ragsdell. Jeff qualified in the #1 position, took the heat win and then drove hard for the feature win. Congrats go out to Jeff and a big thanks for being our on site vendor of karts and parts through out the racing season as the owner of Winners Circle Karting!

Troy Dow!!!It was Troy Dow taking the feature win in our Aqua Class of our Junior Sportsman Champs. Troy Led all the laps of our feature and took the lead on the last lap of the heat to take that win too.Troy, Dad, and Mom!!! The feature had a bad accident involving the #3D of John May, and the #1C of Dylan Crawford. The #3D came out of turn 4 hard and over corrected and flipped, landing on his side, and the #1C made slight contact somewhere avoiding and spun out into the infield. Both karts suffered damage and Dylan Crawford had injuries to his right elbow but as of this posting I have not had an up date as of yet; when i do I will let you know.

David Harkness!!!Our smallest class of the night was the Junior 3 class with just two competitors, but the racing was good and it was David Harkness taking the victory. Both competitors, David Harkness, and Tyler Ortiz both made the move up to try out the Junior 3 class. They have been running in the gold plate Junior 2 class.

Nathan Holder!!!In our Junior 1 class we saw the return of a racer who has not raced all year at ARP. Earlier in the season he had a leg injury and it seemed he may sit out all season long. But this b4eing the last race of the season he wanted to show others he has not lost his love and will to drive. One half of the Holder Boyz Racing team, it was younger brother Nathan Holder taking this victory in front of a lot of his fans and family. He drove a very good race indeed!!

Keith Stephenson!!!Topping off the night and the years racing was our Stock Super Heavy Class. A small list of entries but some big time racing. In the end, it was Keith Stephenson driving to the victory in the #1 kart over father and son racers,  Don and Kevin Fike.  Kevin is moving up into this class for next years racing season and he did very well in this race!!! Keith and Builtwiser's Roger Wilson!!This was truly a family night of victory for the Stephenson's as son Collin and dad Keith both brought home the wins!!
