Nightmare
Under The Full Moon

Race Results for May 5th, 2001

I am not really sure how to explain this night of racing. We had the biggest kart count we ever have had, 145, and added to that, threatening weather all day, very humid wet conditions, a greasy but very fast track surface, and after the clouds parted right before feature time, a very ominous full moon. There was something definitely in the air, and it was the worse night of racing *I* have ever experienced in my time as race director-announcer-track worker, or whatever. There was definitely mistakes made both on and off the track, by all parties concerned, but the resultant effects of those mistakes were very out of line, also, on all parties concerned. It is all part of the growing pains we are going through right now, but it really sucked, and the attitudes I had to deal with, are not going to be tolerated anymore.

I am still reeling from the abusive language "mouthing" I got over some calls made. Good calls or bad calls, being slandered and cursed is not what I call any type of enjoyment. It appears all the work we do in preparation for a race just doesn't matter to some folks, and from now on that will be taken in to account when I am getting yelled at.

Changes are about to be made in organizational,  and track rule enforcements. New rules will be implemented this coming race. What happened on this night of racing, will never happen again to the extent it did this night. I promise everyone that.

Operations Manager

For the most part, the races were awesome racing. And for the number of karts we had, finishing at 12:50am was not that bad considering the problems we had at intermission and the transporting of David Davidson to the hospital. David was released after observation, and he is doing ok.

I do want to congratulate Brandon Malone, on his first feature win! And welcome back to racing, long time 2-cycle competitor, John Henderson, to the senior champ class.

Tony Pollard.....*thinkin*Oh and BTW, check this picture out. With all the yelling and screaming going on this night, Junior Sportsman Champ Driver Tony Pollard, seems to have all his priorities in perfect order......he is fast asleep, like any other day at "his" office...ahhhhh to be young again and not have to listen to old people.....!!!!

Junior 1

1 Will Holder
Justin Carver

Justin Carver and Will HolderThe reason for two first place finishers, is a result from a controversial call and one frankly we have been working hard on trying to find a solution, and to be fair, first place points will be awarded to both Will Holder, and Justin Carver. This is a very different type of situation, and I will not go into any reason for this here, but I also will not take away any awarded points or awards in this matter either. That is why we have two first place finishers. As a matter of fact, I will make a special picture to go here, this coming race!

Three in a row is awesome especially in our highly competitive Modifies class but that is just what Joey Henderson did. Joey kept it straight and went on for the victory for the third straight time.

2 Garrett Gray
3 Dan Gairhan
4 Carey Moore
5 Brian Malone

Senior Champs

 1 Jason Moss

Once again it was Jason Moss going to victory in the Senior Champs. A bit of deja-vu as newcomer to the class John Henderson, raced side by side with Jason. It was ten years ago these two battled it out in the open 2-cycle class. It is good to see such competition between such good friends.

Hard Charger Award

We are going to give out a hard charger award each week to a driver who shows determination and sportsmanship. This will most likely be a racer who strives to do his best. I have a winner this week, but we wont announce it until our next race. His or her picture will be placed here then.
