130 plus AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure quite how to explain this race but if you had to put it in a few words, it has to be; overcoming a very tricky track surface. With a week full of rain, and no way to disc up the surface even on Saturday morning, all we could do is scrape off the top layer and gently pack what was left in as good as we could. What happened was the bottom 4 feet of each turn was mushy and soft and very tricky to navigate. The best way around the track was to ride it high and those who did that made good on their efforts.

We had over 130 entries again, and we do appreciate all your support of our efforts.

What was awesome was all the new entries. We had five new entries in our Junior Novice class alone. Matt Griffin traveled from Indianola Ms, and Derek Medlock came all the way from Walnut Ridge Arkansas. We welcome all newcomers to ARP and hope you will come back often.

If you see Cody Burks walking around the pits, and you did not know who he was, you would never believe he races, let alone  with the best of them and is one of our strongest competitors at ARP. Cody won our Survivor Series Race this week driving the #38jr kart to victory in our 30 lapper in the Junior 1 class. You just had to see his grin ear to ear, as he walked away with a trophy and money for his efforts and seeing that smile,  you just knew what racing at ARP is all about. Not just at ARP but it's what racing everywhere should be all about. We all should take a lesson from that smile.!!

The night was not perfect, nor was the track surface, but it "was" what you expect when you go dirt kart racing in the humid mid-south area.

Thanks everyone for your continued support!!!!

Junior 1

1 Cody Burks

This was our survivor race. To say the least, that is exactly what it became. On Lap 12 of the 30 lapper, Cody Burks driving the 38JR kart took the lead and held on to win the Junior One Survivor Series Race. The race was about being able to focus and concentrate, as the track presented many opportunities to cause you a problem, but Burks, determined to beat the track, did just that. Congratulations  go out to the entire Junior One Class and to a very determined Cody Burks!

Good racing was had by these two, and seeing them shaking hands on the cool down lap was really a testimonial to their sportsmanship. Congrats go out to Brandon!, and the whole class.

Hard Charger Award

We are going to give out a hard charger award each week to a driver who shows determination and sportsmanship. This will most likely be a racer who strives to do his best. I have a winner this week, but we wont announce it until our next race. His or her picture will be placed here then.
