It was
the rainout that wasn't. Rain threatened all afternoon, and with an accompanying
breeze, we did have real concerns about getting our first rainout of the
season, but race fans it just didn't happen. Instead, the skies cleared, the
wind died down and the humidity shot through the roof, and we had ourselves a
race.
Again we
had new faces, new winners, and some older ones returning to victory lane.
Racing was awesome, and so were the numbers again. 21 in Stock Heavy, 17 in
Light and 18 in Medium. It was a night of fierce battles on the track and for
the most part, it was great clean racing. It did come with a lot of contact,
but all in all it was a race fans delight, as our racers put on one heck of a
show.
Enik
Sanders took our Survivor Series Race win as he drove his #29 to victory in
our Stock Heavy 40 lapper, sponsored by Builtwiser. Thanks go out to Roger
Wilson for the sponsorship.
Derek
Hagar took his first victory at ARP in the Junior Novice "A"
feature. John Langley proved once again he has the ability to win in
just about any class as he took top spot in the Light feature. In our Super
Heavy feature, it was Brian Malone, making the weight and taking the win in
his first victory at ARP in two years. And who was driving the 5X kart in
Senior Stock Over 35?...Harry who? Yeah it was Harry McDowell, driving the
Burch #5x, to the winners circle. It was also Paden Gray's and Lee Thompson's
first victory of this year, Paden, taking the win in the Junior 3 feature, and
Leee in the Aqua class of the Junior Sportsman Champs. Jason Moss, Joey
Henderson, Ty Jones, Brandon Malone, Will Holder, Jake Tucker, and Tony
Pollard rounded off the list of winners on this humid but very intense night
of racing at ARP.
Someone
asked about the Hard Charger Awards?
Soon,,,,,,,,real soon!!!
Thanks
everyone for your continued support!!!!

It
is so good to see a class where new winners get to go to the winners
circle. Tonight we split our Novice class up and in our "A"
Feature, it was first time winner Derek Hagar driving the #3 kart to
victory. Congrats go out to Derek and his crew and family for this

as the #20 kart driven by Brandon Malone took the top spot in our
Junior Novice Class, "B" feature. Joining Brandon and
regulars****** ******, and Chaney Young, were new-comers to
this class, Nicholas Brower, and Jake Faust. Congrats go out to Brandon,

It
may be determination, it could be a bit of heart, but this victory is
a special one for Jake Tucker. He has really, fought for it this
season and it just came up short, until this race. Jake drove the #6
to take the checker flag, this night. Congrats go out to Jake, and his
crew.

Paden Gray |
This was a barn burner from the get go.
From this observers point it seemed a bit too much contact throughout
the entire race, but a race it definitely was. Leading the entire
time, was Ty Young driving the #7 kart, and but he was disqualified
for a defective back screen in his muffler, giving the win to a very
hard charging Paden Gray driving the 18P entry. This was really
a very rough night for our Junior 3's but congrats go out to Paden for
his victory. We do not have a picture
available at this time.

It
was John Langley once again showing he can come away with a victory in
a different class, this week it is the Stock Light feature as John
drove the #2 kart to victory. Consistency rules as once again Daniel
Valley produced a strong second place showing. Congrats go out to John
Langley for this win.

Enik Sanders |
Just
as you would think, this "Survivor
Race" was just that. In the end, it was Enik Sanders, who led
from lap one, but was hounded from behind by first Joey Henderson
driving the 05, and then Kenny Lovins in the 24. But Enik's tires came
around after the refueling stop, and he took the top spot in this
nights Survivor Race, which by the
way was sponsored by Builtwiser Karts.
Congrats go out to Enik Sanders and his crew, for this
win.

There
comes with racing, a lot of frustration, when you get so close to
victory time and time again but for some reason it just slips through
your fingers. Brian Malone had not won a feature at ARP in over two
years, even though he came close many times. And who would have
thought, making the weight for the Super Heavy Class would give him
another chance, but this night was his, on a new kart in a new class,
Brian Malone drove to victory in his first win at ARP in a long time.
Congrats go out to Brian and all his crew for this win.

McDowell taking the checker flag in out Senior Stock class. Harry led
from the green to the checker and just goes to show, you just never
forget how to do it, and Harry does it and always has done it very
competitively. Congrats to the Burch Team and Harry McDowell for this
victory.

is Joey's sixth feature win in this class. Second went to Jason Finch
who gave Joey all he wanted and more. Congrats go out to Joey and his
crew for this victory.

Hard Charger Award |
| |
|
We are going to give out a hard charger award
each week to a driver who shows determination and sportsmanship. This
will most likely be a racer who strives to do his best. I have a
winner this week, but we wont announce it until our next race. His or
her picture will be placed here then.
