2nd Annual Summer Classic

July 17th, 2004

They always told me there was going to be good days and bad days. I guess its that way in every thing. When I first realized the turnout was going to be low I thought to myself this is not going to be good. And in the financial aspect of it, it was a disaster. But then i thought about why we were here anyway, and realized those who did show up, came to race and that's what we did. And to those who didn't show, you missed some awesome racing.

Because of the low numbers we had to combine the two adult stock classes. Over 35 and Stock Heavy became what ever you wish to cal it. In the end it was Jeff Ragsdell taking the checker flag.

In the Jr3 Race it was Brent Rowell returning to his old class and taking the victory.

In the Jr Champs, it was Jake Tucker taking the win from a very competitive class. After the first segment, the #89 driven by Beau Browning, was leading and Beau choose to draw a pill an drew #6 and started in 6th place for the final 25 laps. Beau came back to lead in the final segment but he faded and Jake Tucker in the #6 took the lead and the win.

And in the Senior Champs, it was Jason Moss with a win in both segments. There were some great racing in this class, too!!

I want to thank all the fans and racers who did support this event. As to the future of the Classic Series, it looks bad for it to continue because of the low count we have been having. But it was fun and the format did offer the fans and racers something different. So we shall go back to the planning stages and see what we can come up with.

See ya this coming Saturday,

-Danny
