July 22nd

The weather was not cooperative, the sun was hidden for most of the after noon providing the racers with excellent track conditions for some awesome racing. 

This was to be the first of our Survivor Series Race featuring  the Stock Medium Class. The rain cancelled this first 40 lap race of the series. Stock Medium is rescheduled to race the 40 laps in October. 

We were able to just get two features in before the rains came and halted the race. But those features were definitely an indication of the track surface and race conditions.

We had a first time winner in the Novice Class, Tate Dalrymple. Tate has show increased determination as a young racer and he is always trying to get as much seat time as he can. It paid off for him as he dominated his lead throughout the entire feature, and held off the charging Nathan Holder for the feature win. This was a very special win for Tate, as he just had a birthday last week. Congrats go out to Tate and all his family!

Also  first time winners at ARP included Joe Baker in Modified, and Alan McNulty in  Stock Medium. Both of these were determined by the finishes of the heats but they were both awarded the victories. Brian Malone won his first this year in the Stock Heavy Class

Also I want to welcome two racers to ARP, one has raced there before but hasn't in a while now, Lacey Webb, who finished a  very respectable second in our Junior 2 Class. It sure was good to see Lacey again racing at ARP! And finishing second in our Junior 1 class, Lee Thompson. I think it was Lee's first time out on our track. I knew Lee's dad, Phil, back when he was Lee's age, so it was good to see them out at ARP...makes me feel old though!!
