 Survivor Series 40 lap race.

14 Karts going for the 40 lap victory, made for an exciting race with very few mishaps. The first half of the race was Jeff Ragsdell's. Justin Pierce and Robert Kennedy provided the intense pressure and at half way Kennedy and Ragsdell made contact to bring out the caution.
From then on it was a battle between Justin Pierce and Curtis Cole. Pierce held off a strong charging Cole at the checkered flag to take the 40 lap victory.
Congrats go out to this whole class as the racing was very intense and very exciting to watch.

Both Novice Mains had first time winners.
In the A Main #z71, Zack Hutcherson went from green to checker to claim his first victory.
In the B main it was #5, Phillip Higgs dominating the race to grab his first feature win.
Congrats go out to Zack And Phillip and all the Junior Novice class. We are so proud of our Novice Class this year.
13 Entries indicates kart racing is growing, and our Novice Group is a very dedicated group of racers and families.

In our Junior 1 class we had a new racer with a very familiar last name if you follow Sprint Car Racing.
Kevin Swindell raced to a second place finish in the Jr 1 Feature. 11 year old Kevin is the son of  Sprint Car driver Sammy Swindell,  yes "that" Sammy Swindell.
It was good to see Kevin again as I was fortunate to watch him race his first kart race a few years back.

Also getting his first feature win this year at Atoka, was Phillip Thompson, driving the #37 Champ Kart, Phil and I go WAY back but don't ask, because I am not even telling you how far way back. But it was great to see Phil out at the track.

All in all it was a great night of racing at ARP. Parking is still a problem, and we are working on that. Kart Racing is alive and well in the Memphis area. We have numerous tracks within easy driving distance from Memphis, and Since Memphis race fans can race year round with the winter series racing at the Thunderdome, you don't have to go far to experience the thrill of competitive racing, southern style. Thanks go out to all the racers, families, and race fans for supporting ARP this year........Danny Davis
