Sept 20th Race Results
116 Entries....Thanks for Your Support!!!

Our Survivor race was our Aqua Class of Junior Sportsman Champs. 11 entries all Qualifying within 0.840 seconds; awesome huh?  That just shows you how intense and close the competition is.

The winner???

Austin Billops!!!!

Also for a day late birthday present???

How about Happy Birthday and his first feature win ever for Joey Lunati!!!

Can You say Quick???

It was the quickest times recorded this season at the track for all classes. A lot of times recorded in the upper 11's so the track was fast and the racing was good. We did have an injury in the Senior Stock Over 35 class. Glenn Vann had to have stitches in his arm from an accident in the Over 35 heat. I have talked to him and other than being sore I think he will be ok. Our thoughts also this week go out for Over 35 racer Ronald Dix who is going to have heart related procedures done on Tuesday. Our prayers and thoughts will be with him during this time.

There is a lot of talk going on about the incident that caused the injury. Finger pointing in all directions will never find the root causes for such outcomes. It is not about just rough driving, or the tracks inability to keep it under control. It is not about ego's, dislike's, or points championships. It is about responsibility for your own actions, no matter who you are. It is about accepting responsibility for those actions, and either learning from them and placing them in the priority class they should be placed, or finding another hobby or pastime to sort your life around.

I had someone tell me this weekend it was a bad example for the kids to see such actions on and off the track. That may be true, but what we do in response to those actions will be what the kids remember, not the actual action itself. We don't have a sign at the track that says:

"Adults Only, no one Under 18 Admitted"

..instead we say its a family oriented place to come, and bring all the family, young and old, and see a level of competition that is increasing with each passing kart. It is NOT a game, nor are we ever going to say it is completely safe and without chances of an injury. But if everyone worked together to make it as safe as possible, which I think we all do an excellent job at just that, then the outcome would stay positive.

I also had to take an action I hate taking. I removed points from a junior racer as a direct result of a rules violation concerning abusive language around track workers. It was discussed at the drivers meeting the result of such a violation and this will be the norm for the rest of this season and beyond. I am sickened at some of the language floating around the track, and its going to stop one way or another. What you say in private is your choice. What you say around our track workers, and around the kids at our track.....is *MY* choice, like it or not, live with it or go race somewhere else!!!!!

I thank everyone for their continued support of our track, and our record breaking season is finally coming to an exciting ending. We have more plans for improving the facility for the 2004 season and we hope you all will join us in the final few races to determine the 2003 season champions.

Our next race is this coming Saturday the 27th
