We had some awesome weather to lay the ground work for what was going to be a very fast paced night of equally awesome racing. 112 Entries, and this night of racing would be over by 10:15.

If I may take you back a number of years. This pic is of a very small and somewhat frightened new racer at Atoka. The pic was taken in 2000-2001, I am just not sure which winter, but it was cold, it was February, it was dirt everywhere, and this young racer was about to go out and have his first kart ride.  As you can see he had to look through the steering wheel and then barely could see above the center section. But when youre 5 years old, does it really matter how much you can see?

So where is he 4 years later? He took the Survivor Series Feature win this race driving the #37, the "G-Man" Garrett Carroll.

Going into this night everyone knew this race was going to be tough to win and more tough on the racers. The year for this class has had its ups and downs and from where I stand I see a lot of matured racers who have come a long way and shown a lot of class and maturity as this season winds down.

The entire 14 karts qualified within 0.845 seconds. Now that alone says a lot about the determination, and the skill from this class. You think these racers were not hyped up for this event??? That also says a lot about kart preparation, and set up. You got to love this type of competition and ability by the pit crews as well.

I had a chance to talk to a few of the top finishers in this race and the one thing I came away with was, this is an awesome group of young racers.  Every head I saw was held high with pride and this was very well deserved, as this was an awesome race start to finish. Congrats go out to all these racers and their crews for an awesome job well done!!

Names like Ragsdell, Boaz, Carver, Moss, Rochelle, Holder, Tucker, Rowell, Wilson.....they once again took their feature and continued their hot streaks. Collin Stephenson won his second in a row....he was all smiles again. Marshall Higgs returned to the winners circle after really working hard to get back there. Shasta Brown came back for her second trip to the winners circle.  So did Barry Ticer, who has been away for a couple of races but he returned with a determination to take the 1st place trophy home again.  And of course Garrett Carroll with the impressive win in that awesome Survivor Race.

Chris Massey and Mitch Wood made their first race ever and Massey dropped out of the feature with engine problems, but Mitch Wood took the 3rd place trophy in his first race ever. We have a great group of young beginning racers.

With only two more points races this season, you are promised a lot of close and intense racing in all our classes.

Congrats go out to all the winners in our other classes.  Check out out Weekly Results Page to see every race feature winner listed.

Our next race is this Saturday, and it is the 2nd Annual Fall Classic. This proves to be a good race with many races running in multiple classes.
