We lost Kirk Harris recently, but his courage and memory will live on in the hearts of racers everywhere. Kirk was a very special person who never was seen without that huge smile those of us who knew him got to love. We will miss Kirk's pride, and courage, both on and off the track. Tonight's race was dedicated to that awesome smile!

It was one of those races you struggled to get in. We had a lot of rain on Friday night and it kept us from working on any thing until after 10 am but Jason managed to get the pits in shape and the track was damp all night with a few dimples on the lower runs, but it was fast, and greasy to some extent.

A very special thank you goes out to Jason Moss for his never give up attitude in preparing the pits and track so we could race. The pits were under water at 7 am and by 2 pm he had them drying in the sun. Thanks Jason, another job well done.

A few bad situations that were handled swiftly and all in all it was a great night of racing.

A personal note concerning the flagman situation. I had quite a few people come up to me asking me why I fired Chuck Fletcher, from his position as head flagman. I had one young boy in tears over it, who was actually angry with me. This was a complete surprise to me as Chuck called me a few nights before this race letting me know he had planned on running a late model and his stock car the rest of the season. We did discuss an incident the prior race to this one, but there was never any talk of disagreement on my decisions in the matter. If this rumor is floating around, then you have just heard my side of it and the matter as far as I am concerned is closed. If you think I enjoy being your flagman, your mistaken, but I can do it, and will do it for the next three events of our 2001 season. We had a problem arise, we fixed it the best we could, and we will go on. Now you have a flagman with a definite attitude, and a stretched out work load, but don't think for a minute I can not handle it.......Danny

Part of this work load is taking the pictures for the website and once again either I screwed up or the camera screwed up, because one whole floppy disc is un readable. I once again apologize for this, but the camera never let me know anything was wrong. This next race I will have a second 35mm camera to back up every shot.

To all our racers, and race fans, thanks from all of us at ARP for your continued support.

Hard Charger Award

We are going to give out a hard charger award each week to a driver who shows determination and sportsmanship. This will most likely be a racer who strives to do his best. I have a winner this week, but we wont announce it until our next race. His or her picture will be placed here then.
