The night Of:

 The Young Guns

(plus a few veterans)

Where to start?, that is the question.

Anyone who knows me, knows how I feel about our young racers.
They are our future, and they are the future of racing.
Without them, we would have NO future at all at any race track.
And I firmly believe the young racers at Atoka are some of the best anywhere to be found.
We are very proud of them and we are very proud they choose Atoka to race at.
And they spotlighted the entire event, with a few veteran exceptions.

In the junior novice "A" Main it was Keith Ainsworth winning his *third* feature in a row.
Keith's Dad drives locally in a sprint car and also won this week at Riverside Raceway in West Memphis.
Not a bad weekend for this racing family!

In the junior novice "B" Main it was Tate Dalrymple winning his second feature at ARP.
Tate's uncle is Greg Hodnett, so once again there is the racing connection. Awesome , right?

And of course the name Swindell is no stranger to local racing and once again Kevin Swindell was the feature winner in the Junior 1 Class.

And if you follow kart racing in the Memphis area you know Samantha. Samantha Gargus won the Junior 2 Feature.

Our 40 Lap - Survivor Series Race was full of tension, emotions, and awesome racing.
It has to be the Junior Stocks right?
Well it was Lee Sowell driving the #51 to victory in our 40 lap feature.

In the Stock Light Class, it was 15 year old Daniel Valley once again returning to the victory circle.

In Stock Medium it was 15 year old Josh Booker taking the checker flag.

Now if I count right, that's 7 features out of 11, won by racers 15 and under.
 I think the term
Young Guns is very applicable here!

Now we also had some of our veteran racers ride to victory lane. It was Jeff Ragsdell winning both Stock Heavy AND the Over 35 class. David Holder came away with his first victory of the year in the Limited/Modified class. And in the Champ Karts it was Steve High driving the #10 to victory.

All in all it was a great night of racing at ARP. We thank all the racers and race fans who came out!
