What's Happening To Our Track - 2002-2003 |
|
Updated
pics of ongoing work on new scoring tower. New EMT and Officials deck
under construction along with handicap ADA access area. Someone mentioned
the other day...""But it's just a go-kart track""...To that we
say...nahhh..not to us!!! |
Another
pic of the tower. Note the connecting canopy to the existing operations
building. Canopy to divert rain water, and supply both buildings with
computer networking, and power requirements!!! |

Asphalt being applied to the reserved pit areas. The way it will be laid
out is you will park with your trailer door laying on the asphalt. If you
have one of these pits reserved, The only dirt your kart will see in on
the track. |
This is a picture looking straight towards the grid area. You can see
our line up board and the electrical hook up for the pump a round. Grid
lanes will be striped, and clearly marked. |

|
The
center dirt area will be covered with a crushed limestone/cement mixture.
This will provide a solid base material for trucks and trailers to park
on. This gravel mixture will be applied after the first of the year,
before our season starts. |
The
entrance "ramp" to the track at turn four. NO dust, no dirt until your
kart tires hit the racing surface. This is actually going to give us more
area control on our grid. Lanes will be marked. |

The
south reserved pits! All asphalt was not down at the time of this shot,
but you will be able to pits on the asphalt behind your trailer.
|
This
is a far away shot. The pits not covered in asphalt are not reserved and
they will be first come first served. We plan on have the road ways marked
with the crushed rock material in the non reserved pits after the first of
the 2003 year. |

During
the asphalt work, this is a good shot of the scale, impound, and return
road which you can see is all asphalt covered now. |
This
shows the asphalt going up the drive, making the entrance easier, and an
exit much easier of we have an unexpected rain out to one of our races. |

The
scoring tower is finally under way again. Our goal is to have it up and
operating the 15th of January. It is our goal. |
You can see the shape of the tower and in the background the new
railing on the inside of the racing surface. No more berm, or barrels.
What will some of our Over35 drivers do with out targets to take out????

Another satisfied track worker. Sorry for the blurry part of the
picture, but I had to blur it out. This is a family site ya know. I found
out what his problem is tho, he was just telling me the number of
supporters he has. Or was it the number of helpers?? |
The turn 3 and 4 new inside railing. A little intimidating at first
glance. May move the groove up a bit higher??..What do you think?? |

The painted turn 1 and 2 new inside railing. Don't worry about the
approach bend in it, Our plans are to have cushion devices incase you are
way too low on approach. |

The painting crew boss at work directing efforts on the new railing on
Sadler School Road. Tipton county's finest will appreciate this new
railing as no one can park alongside the road anymore. |
We are on a roll to an exciting 2003 race season full of changes and new
additions to our facility. Make sure you plan on being a part of the most
exciting outdoor racing season ever in the midsouth!!!!
