| General Safety and Basic Facility Rules | |
| FACILITY RULES | |
| BF-A |
Three Strike Rule: Basic penalty structure is
as follows: First Strike Violation: Lose awards and disqualified from the event the violation occurred. Second Strike Violation: One Race Suspension. This does NOT include First Violation Penalty. Third Strike Violation: Suspension for one year from date of violation. Note: Penalties handed out in response to violations concerning our rules are decided upon by track officials. In theory, three strikes can occur in less than ten seconds at the same event. Violation count does not reset after each event. A record of violations is kept for a period of one calendar year. Any race teams returning from a Third Strike Suspension, are automatically placed on a six(6) event probation status; meaning ANY violation during this period will result in an immediate one year suspension. |
| BF-1 | NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES OR ANYONE UNDER THE INFLUENCE THEREOF ALLOWED IN THE RACING FACILITY. |
| BF-2 | ARP is a *family* run facility, maintaining a family atmosphere, and a safe environment for all family members and race fans. We spotlight our young racers, and race fans. We will NOT tolerate any foul or abusive language around our young fans and or racers. No exceptions. If you are discovered using profane or abusive language to a level where others, that may be offended by it, can hear you, you will be asked to leave our facility immediately; See Rule BF-A |
| BF-3 | AT NO TIME WILL FOUL, PROFANE, OR OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE TOWARD A TRACK OFFICIAL BE TOLERATED. The management staff supports all our track officials. We stand behind their decisions and calls concerning events on or off the track. If you are abusive in ANY way to a track official, you will be immediately evicted from the facility; See Rule BF-A |
| BF-4 | There will be no fighting allowed. If you engage in a fight at our facility, management will decide on the course of action to be taken. Penalties, include but are not limited to, loss of awards for the season, suspension from the facility, and possible legal actions. If you refuse to abide by our rules, or guidelines, we will press charges. |
| BF-5 | RACERS WILL, AT ALL TIMES, BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THEIR CREW AND OR RELATIVES. ANY UN-SPORTSMAN-LIKE CONDUCT BY THE DRIVER, OR HIS OR HER GUARDIAN, OR GUESTS, WILL BE CHARGED DIRECTLY BACK TO THE DRIVERS AWARDS OR POINTS FOR THAT EVENT! See Rule BF-A |
| BF-6 | DEFINITION OF UN-SPORTSMAN-LIKE CONDUCT: …ANY driver, crewmember, family member, or friends that uses foul language or aggression, towards another person or towards an official. ANYONE drinking or under the influence of alcoholic beverages. ANYONE who displays rough or reckless driving as determined by track officials to be classified as unsafe to other participants. |
| BF-7 | DO NOT APPROACH THE SCORING TOWER OR FLAG STAND DURING A RACE. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN YOUR KART'S DISQUALIFICATION. Entering the scoring tower during a timed session without prior approval may result in your entry being disqualified for the entire event. The Scoring Tower is "off limits" during ANY timed session. |
| BF-8 | Do not dump used oil on the ground. ANY violation of this is an immediate disqualification of the event. Containers are available for used oil. Please Check with an official for locations. |
| BF-9 | Do NOT dump fuel on the ground AT ANY TIME! Do NOT dump fuel on the asphalt AT ANY TIME. ANY violation of this is an immediate disqualification of the event. |
| BF-10 | Please use trash barrels for your trash. Let's keep ARP clean. Any excessive violation of this request can result in awards being removed during a post race inspection of the facility. |
| BF-11 | NOTE!::::::NO kart buggies allowed beyond the entrance to the grid lanes. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! |
| BF-12 | After registration is closed, anyone registering late, will be placed at the back of the line up in the heat or feature race, whichever comes immediately following the late entry. Beginning September 1st of the calendar season, and including ANY points races ran afterwards and until the end of the points season, after the announced time of the closing of registration, NO ONE is permitted to register for ANY class EXCEPT Junior Novice, and Novice Sportsman Champ, or any other NON-points class entry. |
| BF-13 | Two-Way Radio communication between the driver of any kart and ANYONE on the drivers team or ANY team member, is strictly prohibited. At some point during the 2007 season, the use of Raceceivers may be implemented for communications, one way FROM track officials TO the drivers. Any team member abusing this communication link will cause the driver to be banned from the next two points sessions, and forfeit the previous and current points session totals. |
| BF-14 | ARP uses WKA Motor and Chassis rules as guidelines. IKF Motor rules NOT ALLOWED. |
| BF- 15 | After passing the entrance to the grid lanes, no further adjustments or modifications can be made to your kart. You MAY let air out of your tires, but no air may be added. An air measuring device may be used for this adjustment. No Prepping of tires allowed after entering the lanes. If you fail to start, contact a track official IMMEDIATELY to initiate the 3-lap rule to try and get you started. |
| BASIC RULES | |
| RB-1 Modified: 8/20/07 |
Unless qualifying, There will be one heat and one feature per class. Starting order of
non-qualifying class heats will be determined by a random drawing during
registration. If there are more than
10 entries, the class will be split up into two heats. Please
note:: In all purple restrictor plate classes: 6 entries will be
one heat; over 6 entries, we will split up the field into two heats as
discussed above Results of heat "A" and Heat "B" will be compared and the entry with the fastest lap time recorded in each finishing position will be placed in the inside row in the feature line up. What this means is for example, the lap times of the 3rd place finishers in both Heat A and Heat B will be compared and the quicker of the two fastest lap time by each entry will get the inside spot. This will be done for each position including the front row in setting the pole position. This is only done when we have two heats in one class to set the feature starting grid. If you are unable to make your assigned heat, you can NOT enter the track in the other heat. (unless instructed by a track official). You will simply be placed on the rear of the feature line up. |
| RB-2 |
Class size is limited to 16 entries to start the feature.
Any class not running a special event race; and having over 16 entries will be
qualified, transferring the top 16 to the feature. There will be NO consolation
race for this regular class session.
If the class IS part of a special event race, the class will qualify to determine heat starting order, and if there are more than 16 entries, there will be a consolation race. Generally we will lock in 10 entries from the qualifying session. The consolation races will determine the remaining 6 positions to transfer to the feature. Definition of a special event race is *Survivor Series Race* and any other event session deemed *special* by event director. Track management has the right to include at various times extra qualifying sessions determined necessary by track officials. |
| RB-3A | All qualifying will be 4 laps at full speed. Timing will not be started until race director determines the qualifying karts are as sorted out as possible and up to speed within a normal given amount of time. Usually no more than 4 karts at a time on the track during qualifying. |
| RB-3 | 8-Lap Heats, 15-Lap Features for all adult classes. 8-Lap Heats and 12 lap features for all junior classes except the novice classes. 6-lap heats and 10 lap features for the Novice Classes, (this could vary for larger, special events.) The Track Officials reserve the right to decrease the total number of laps in any given race, due to time constraints or safety on the track. If a race is called prior to the final lap, for some unsolvable reason, the final results will be determined by the LAST completed lap under a green condition. This normally happens if there is a major safety event. |
| RB-4 | The race is official after one completed lap. The event is official after completion of heats and or qualifying. |
| RB-5 | No refueling of ANY kart is allowed, unless monitored by track officials, and the fuel has been approved by officials. |
| RB-6 | Unless otherwise decided, by track officials, there will be a specific time limit set to all classes. If the feature is 15 laps, a 12 minute time limit will be in effect from the initial green. 12 Lap features will be allowed 10 minutes. 8-lap heats will be allowed 6 minutes to be completed. Survivor Races will be allowed 25 minutes. Upon expiration of time, as determined by the time keeper, there will be a white flag displayed, followed by the checkered flag. If time expires during a caution, a green, white, checkered flag will be given to end the race, Timing stops during a red flag condition or a track official time out can be given at certain times, to re-align the racers, for any safety concerns, or non on track events that require officials to stop the session. |
| RB-7 | Unless for safety reasons only, do NOT exit your kart while on the track unless directed to do so by a track official. When in doubt, stay in your kart. This is for safety reasons. |
| RB-8 | As a general guideline, only ONE beacon in the infield, and one directed from outside the track will be allowed in a location determined by race officials. This rule applies when beacons of the same manufacturer give conflicting readings to receiving devices on board the kart. You are solely responsible for beacon placement and fully understand the track is NOT responsible in any way for its operation or survivability in the operation of the event, i.e., if your beacon is damaged by location or improper placement. |
| RB-9 | NO HOT PITS, NO EXCEPTIONS, TURN OFF MOTOR AT SCALES---The approach to the scales, is the cut-off point for the motors AT ALL TIMES!!!, even during practice before heats. DO NOT drive your kart on our scales for any reason. Violation of this will place you on the rear of the feature if prior to, and erase all you're points for the event if it is done after the feature is completed. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! |
| RB-10 | At NO TIME, is any spectator allowed past the midway point between turn three and turn four as defined by the boundaries of the fence. The only exceptions to this are listed in rule RB-11. If you are caught outside the fence, your team driver will be penalized to the rear of the feature, if prior to, or have his or her awards taken away if during the feature. The only exceptions are in case of a damaged kart to be removed, or an emergency. Do NOT jump the fence. Unless instructed by track officials, only the driver will be allowed on the return road if a weight must be made at that time. |
| RB-11 | No pit crew member is allowed in the scale area prior to their kart being weighed. The Novice classes, Jr 1, Jr 2, All Jr Sportsman Champs, and Junior Champ classes are the only exception to this rule, and only ONE crew member per kart may assist these classes. NOTE1: At no time is it allowable for this selected crew member to verbally abuse another junior driver during the scaling time of the karts. If this is witnessed by track officials, the Strike Two Rule will immediately be placed into effect. See Rule BF-A All other drivers must exit their karts and push them onto the scales. NOTE2: During the dismounting and scaling of karts, ANY actions witnessed by track officials to be determined unsportsmanlike will be addressed with appropriate penalties. The Exit road is a place of high emotions, but we MUST insist on non aggressive behavior. This area will be monitored at all times. |
| RB-12 | Only one crewmember per kart is needed on the final grid area. Please try and help us on this to avoid congestion. |
| RB-13A | Checking of fuel will be mandatory at each race. It is the final determination of tech officials as how the fuel will be monitored. The track officials may use one or more checks of any competitors fuel AT ANY TIME, prior to, or during any form of post race inspection. It will be the determination of the tech official of the validity of the fuel checks. |
| RB-13 |
When the pump a round is in use, All karts will go thru pump-a-round. DO NOT come to pump-a-round with out
the correct amount of fuel in your tank. You will not be allowed to go thru
pump-a-round if you don't have the correct amount of fuel. DO NOT come to the
pump-a-round until your class has been called. We will NOT pump you out of
turn. If you overfill your tank, get a pump-a-round official to remove
excess amount
but at NO TIME ARE YOU ALLOWED to dump any on the ground, if you do, you will be disqualified.
See Rule BF-9 NOTE: If you wait an unusual long time to get through pump a round and your class is ready on the grid, you may be disqualified for that session. We will not tolerate anyone who has had the chance to go thru this procedure and the remainder of the class is on the track ready to race. |
| RB-14 | Mufflers ARE required. Slicks only. NO TREADS! |
| RB-15 | Concerning Kart Numbers, you MUST have readable numbers on your kart for the staff to officiate the event. If told by the staff that your numbers are non allowable, you will be disqualified for the event if not fixed by the feature. If you sign up with a duplicate number already signed into the event, you MUST change your number for scoring purposes. We cannot let two entries on the track with the same number. This will be a first come-first served guideline in determining who has to change numbers. All karts, open and champ MUST have a number plate attached in such a way as to be readable and in plain sight from any kart behind your entry. This is NOT an option; Readable numbers on the rear of your entry, or you don't race. |
| RB-16 | No one is allowed past the swinging gate at the entrance to the track from the grid. You are only allowed there if there is an emergency on YOUR entry only. Track officials will warn you ONE time only, after which, your entry will be disqualified if the violation occurs again. |
| RB-17 | Bicycles, Tricycles, Scooters, (motorized and non-motorized), skate-boards, skates, or 3 or 4 wheelers are NOT allowed to be operated during a facility race. You may use these during practice visits, but ONLY if you maintain proper operation and show courtesy to all who are present. |
| RB-18 | Two entries make a class. One entry may NOT run for points at any points event, even if he or she is allowed by others classes to join them in a prearranged agreement to allow this to happen. NO points will be awarded and cash prizes for this situation must be arranged ahead of the first sessions of the night, or the entry will be allowed to run. Again, NO POINTS will be awarded for just a single entry in ANY points class. |
| SAFETY BASICS | |
| S-1 | Each Kart will have a pre race safety tech inspection. You MUST have this inspection before practice. All karts will be visually inspected for safety violations, and race readiness. The responsibility of meeting safety requirements rest with the individual entry. If you have any concerns or questions, please ask a track official for any clarification of safety rules. Tech Markings or painting will be done during this inspection. |
| S-2 | All racers will wear all protective clothing at all times, while on the track. This includes long pants, socks, long sleeves, neck brace, helmet, and gloves. THIS ALSO INCLUDES ANY FORM OF PRACTICE ON THE TRACK AT ANY GIVEN TIME OR DAY. All champ kart drivers will wear arm restraints. Drivers in ANY of the Champ Classes are advised to have a full fire resistant drivers suit with an SFI rating of 3.2 A1 or better. This is not a requirement as is in WKA, but it is an advisement from a safety point of concern. |
| S-3 | All bolted on weights will be painted white, and must include your kart number painted or inscribed on them as well. All Weights must be double-nuted or safety wired. A loss of a weight during a race will immediately result in a disqualification from that session. |
| S-4 | No added weight allowed on ANY driver at any time. |
| S-5 | The WOLF PLATE protection device must be installed and used on all karts that have the seats in a configuration that would allow injury to the driver if the seat struts fail. The track officials will inspect and advise you to obtain a wolf-plate device before the next event. Failure of this device during a race will immediately result in a disqualification from that session. |
| S-6 | Please observe any No Smoking Signs! Use a little common sense here please? |
| S-7 | Each pit MUST have in possession, a fully operational fire extinguisher, 2.5 lbs minimum. This is not a request, it is a requirement. |
| S-8 | NO open flame devices are allowed in the pits at ANY time. Heat guns may be used for tire maintenance, but under no circumstances will an OPEN FLAME device be allowed. If an open flame device is observed by track officials you will be disqualified immediately. Cooking is allowed and gas grills are not considered as open flame, unless you place your tires on the grilling surface, and then we may have an issue. |

NOTE: If you begin the race season
and your age changes during the season and allows you to be placed in a
different class, you MAY stay where you started and finish the season. You may
also move up but obtained points are NOT transferable to the new class, and
after you move up, you may NOT move back down.
The racers age on January 1st 2008, WILL set his or her eligibility for the year. Track has the right to wavier this rule only on special circumstances. See THREE MONTH RULE note above! All Juniors must have a copy of your birth certificate on file at ARP to be eligible for points or rewards. This is for ALL Junior Classes. Over 35 competitors, must show proof of age if asked. |
||
| Three Month Rule Note!!! |
|
*As with any facility, you have local racers
who support and have grown within that facility. As we all know, every racer's
ability is different, and seat time, and ability go hand in hand. If your
Junior racer, is within 3 months of his or her birthday that will allow them
to enter the next level of eligibility and move up into the next class,
AND that racer has proven their ability on OUR track, you must request through
discussions with track officials, this move, and also provide to the facility
proof of age! As with ANY change, it will be the managements final
decision as to this move. This involves, ALL junior classes!! This rule does NOT apply to someone who is 34 wanting to move into the Senior Stock Class. |
| Note 1: Novice Junior Class |
|
*This class will be set up differently and
for the entry level racer only. It will be determined by track officials and
the racer's parents when the racer is ready to be moved up into his or her
applicable class. This is NOT a points class. Trophies and/or money will be awarded to
3rd place. This class is NOT required,
but for the beginner, it is an excellent place to get the feel of the kart
and the track. We hope this gives our beginners a feel for the
sportsmanship and ability to enter into our sport safely and with pride!!!
Any special conditions concerning the age of the Novice driver, must be
coordinated with track officials. All drivers wanting to move up in their
respective classes from the Novice class must notify track officials
of your intentions. No exceptions. Any Novice driver, who is
dominating the Novice Class, will be required to move up into their
eligible class at that time. This
will be a combined decision with track officials and the parents of the driver.
Also, if your driver wins 3 events in this class, he or she will be required to
move up at that time.
If your driver has won 3 event features in the previous year, he/she, can NOT
participate in this entry level class. This class is for learning purposes. Advancing, into the drivers proper class as soon as possible, is mandatory if
driver is determined ready for advancement by track officials. This class will
run heats and features as defined in the rules.
Please note: When there are less than 3 participants, the class is not a valid class for that specific date. A class MUST have 3 participants to be counted as a class. |
| Note 2: Novice Sportsman Champ Class |
| *Same guidelines apply as with the above Novice Open Kart class.!! |
| Note 3: Running Both OHV & Raptor Classes |
| Juniors that are AGE eligible may race in both a flat head junior class, AND Animal junior class. Juniors may NOT race in two flathead open kart junior classes at any time during points races. You may not race in Senior Champ and run a junior champ class as well. |
| Note 4: Special Consideration Concerning Moving Up Into Senior Classes |
|
*This rule was originally written in our
rules package during the 1999-2000 season and removed later as being a mostly
understood and rarely used rule. It is however increasingly used as we have a
lot of racers who have grown up and matured racing at our facility. As with
all rules, the one important factor considered is safety. When a Junior driver reaches his or her 14th birthday, and has shown a proven ability racing at *OUR* facility, and, at which time wishes to compete in their next level of competition; which is the senior classes, he/she may be allowed to do so ONLY after careful consideration and agreement between track officials and the parents or legal guardians of the driver. This allowable move is made possible due to the fact we have a growing family of racers who have mastered the necessary driving skills at *OUR* facility, and quite often are very capable to run with their senior counterparts, safely and competitively. As with any rule, the main concern is the driver's safety, and safety within the senior class itself, and the proven consistency and ability of the junior driver on AND off the track. This rule is intended *ONLY* for drivers within the Unrestricted Junior Champ Class, Junior 3, Junior Animal Champ, and Animal Junior Class. Also this move is a *LOCAL* track decision only and does not have the intentions to warrant ANY actions at other facilities, or karting events elsewhere. Abuse of this allowable move will NOT be tolerated! Remember, if you move up, you may NOT move back down. During any points event, you may NOT run an adult class and junior class eve if you are age eligible. This may or may not apply to special events. In those cases, the decisions will be made by the event director. |
|
Note 5: ANIMAL 400 |
| No Driver Minimum Weight Rule in the class. Driver Plus Kart Weight Minimum - 400# |
|
Note 6: SPEC TIRES |
| All classes will run an OPEN Tire Rule! |
| Note 7: THE OHV ENGINES | |||||||||
|
*Briggs and Stratton Stock
Animal 6.5 HP Model 124-432 Type 8001 - OHV engines. NOTE, Juniors that are AGE eligible may race in both a flat head junior class, AND Animal junior class. Juniors may NOT race in two flathead open kart junior classes at any time during points races. You may not race in Senior Champ and run a junior champ class as well. |

| ON TRACK RULES AND PROCEDURES | |
| RR-A | TRANSPONDERS:
Race teams are responsible for picking up their transponders located near the entrance to the grid lanes. If a kart team fails to pick up his or her transponder and enters the track, the moment the scoring system advises track officials, the entrant will be allowed to obtain & install the transponder, but has to relocate to the rear of the line up during that session. . If a transponder fails during the session, track officials will remove and replace the transponder at no penalty to the racer. A caution condition may be implemented, depending upon the time of the failure. Transponders are to be mounted in a vertical position on the left rear seat strut. Racers must obtain a transponder holding device from registration at a cost of $5.00 Personal Transponders are encouraged and allowed but you must register your transponder number with registration to be entered into our timing system. Information on how to purchase personal transponders is available at registration. Unless otherwise instructed by track officials, you must insure that your borrowed transponder be returned after each timed session. |
| RR-1 |
STARTS:
The race will be started by the flag-man at a point between two painted lines between turn four and the start finish line. The first two karts MUST be side-by-side in order for the flagman to proceed with the green flag. Minimal acceleration only will be allowed until the flag man shows a green flag and light. Failure to observe this will place a penalty upon a restart attempt. At ANY time, it will be the option of the flagman to decide on applying a penalty for unnecessary shoving or pushing during a starting attempt . It is imperative that the front row be side-by-side when coming out of turn four, at a slow pace! Once again, the front row SHOULD NOT accelerate until, they are given the green flag. Do NOT jump on the initial start of the race. The race is under way ONLY when the green flag is waved and the green track light is lit. If you jump on the start you can be penalized, as described in the paragraph below. Our general guideline is two failed initial laps will result in a single file start, but the final decision will be left to the flagman's call on why and who caused these failed completed first laps and the follow-up actions dealing with them. |
| RR-2 |
RE-STARTS: All re-starts will be single file, nose-to-tail configuration. The order is determined by the last completed full lap as scored by the scorers, or the scoring system. Al re-starts will happen going into turn four. There will be a cone on the front straight away at the start-finish line, and no kart is to make a pass until having passed that cone. Karts MUST remain nose-to-tail during ALL restarts until the cone is passed; NO EXCEPTIONS!! If a pass is made, OR a kart gets out of line and begins the pass prior to passing the cone, YOU WILL NOT BE SCORED FROM THAT POINT ON, and a two-position penalty, FROM THE POSITION OF THE VIOLATION, will be made at the end of the race or the next re-start, which ever comes first. This means, for example, if you are in 10th position, and you jump the re-start, you will be placed in the 12th position upon the next caution, or the finish of the race, which ever occurs first, no matter what your position is on the track at the time or the caution or the end of the race. Note1: Karts intentionally lagging back on a restart will be penalized if judged so by track officials. NOTE 2: If a kart fails to keep up with the other competitors during a restart and it is determined that he or she is causing an unfair or unsafe condition to exists, track officials may place the slower kart on the back of a restart. This will be judged by the race director and flagman. |
| RR-2A |
ERRATIC MOVEMENT OR CLEANING OF TIRES ON THE TRACK: The erratic swerving back and forth of cleaning tires during a start or restart will NOT be allowed once the yellow light has been turned off. When the yellow light is turned off the field will bunch up and prepare for a start or restart. Violators to this rule, will be penalized immediately. The penalty will consist of a rear placement start or a black flag, as determined by the race director. |
| RR-3 |
SPINOUTS: Concerning Spinouts: ANYONE spinning out, for any reason under a green flag condition, will immediately go to the rear of the field upon restart. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! If you cause another racer to spin out and it was determined, by track officials, that you were at fault, you will ALSO be penalized to the rear of the field upon restart. Spin outs, to avoid dangers, under caution will NOT be penalized, UNLESS it is determined by track officials, that you had ample time to reduce your speed to avoid the danger. This will be entirely up to track officials to make this call. ANY SPINOUTS, even those on the initial lap before it is scored, if the green light is on, CAN BE PENALIZED, if a determination is possible by track officials that a violation has occurred. This means covering the entire track after the green light is displayed. ANY SPINOUTS, can be penalized to the rear if under the green light condition. On the initial start or restart, it will be the track officials decision as to who caused the mass spinout if this occurs, but the lap does NOT have to be scored or completed for a racer to be penalized, if the green light is displayed. If, however it can NOT be determined by track officials the cause of the spin out on the initial start, meaning there were multiple entries involved and no one certain violator, we will go back to the original line-up. If you cause a spinout thinking you're going to get a complete restart on the first lap of the race or a complete restart following a yellow condition, you are mistaken, and will be penalized. The severity of the penalty is solely determined by your actions. |
| RR-4 | White Flag Lap and spinouts: Unless there is an eminent danger, there will be NO caution once the white flag is displayed. It will be up to the track officials to make ANY decisions concerning scoring spinouts, on the final lap. Track officials will be unanimous in their decision; and if not, the finish order, as scored, at the finish line will stand, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! NOTE: Any arguments or non acceptance in the enforcement of this rule is immediate grounds for disqualification. |
| RR-5 | Cautions Brought Out For Safety Reasons: If at anytime, the kart or driver is in violation of a safety rule that places any danger to the other racers or him or herself, a Caution will be initiated and the safety violation will be fixed or the kart will be removed from the track. Since this caution was brought out for a specific kart, that kart will be penalized to the rear upon restart. This is just a clarification of an existing rule concerning the bringing out of a caution condition and the penalty therein. NOTE: If you lose a muffler, or a kart weight, or an air filter and the adapter is still on the kart, you are immediately disqualified and must leave the racing surface. These items will NOT be allowed to be reinstalled during the race. |
| RR-6 |
The 3 lap grace period: If your kart is placed in a
situation that makes it not race ready and the field is under a yellow, or prior
to the initial start, you will have THREE laps to complete minor repairs and
return to the line up. This usually happens if a kart fails to start, or loses
power during a yellow, a flat tire, or a chain becomes unattached. The 3 lap
rule becomes active ONLY when the track officials instruct the flagman that we
are in a RACE READY CONDITION. Race ready conditions are indicated by the race
director and the race scorers, and will also be
indicated by the green AND yellow lights being displayed at the same time. When the race ready
condition is indicated, you will have 3 laps to get back in the line or
forfeit your position, UNLESS YOU brought out the caution.
NOTE: You MUST have your kart OFF the track surface if you are having trouble during these three laps, NO EXCEPTIONS! You may work on your kart in the infield, or push it back to the grid exit area, near turn 4 for these minor repairs. Those are the only two areas you may make minor repairs. A track official MUST be present during these repairs. You will be given this 3-lap grace only ONCE during a timed session. This will be FOR ANY REASON you require a delay. If you have a second failure, you will be immediately sent to the infield where you can fix your kart and return if you choose but we will NOT stop the race and wait on you a second time. You can NOT make any repairs of this matter during a red condition. If you do, you will be disqualified. |
| RR-6A | Do NOT exit the track at turn 3 for ANY reason as you will NOT be allowed to return. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! |
| RR-7 | NOTE::::::::During a red light track condition, no one is allowed by the karts except the driver, unless instructed to do so by track officials. You may NOT work on your kart at any time during a red condition. When in doubt of this rule, stay away from your kart unless you are directed by track officials. The 3 lap grace period does NOT apply to a red light situation. WORKING ON A KART DURING A RED LIGHT CONDITION, WILL END UP DISQUALIFYING THAT ENTRY FOR THE SESSION!! |
| RR-8 | Anyone causing A caution three times in one session, will immediately be disqualified for that session. This is generally a call that is made if a kart is mishandling badly, or has a re-occurring problem with the engine. The exceptions to this rule are the multiple pile ups where no definitive kart can be blamed, for a specific caution. |

FLAGS:

| RR-10 |
NOTE!!!!!
There is NO gray area here......Where we can not define
intent, we rule on it. And if you are under power and could have proceeded, the
intent is there. Tolerance will be given to novice racers only. WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!! |
| RR- 11 | In coordination with the above rule RB-16, NO ONE is allowed onto the track surface during ANY flag condition unless instructed to do so by a track official. If you need the attention of your driver, notify the closest official and they will take necessary actions. But if YOU go out onto our track during a race, and did not get permission, your driver will be disqualified for the session. We understand anyone's concerns during a critical situation when there is an accident; but to maintain safety, please check with a track official before entering the racing area. |

Tech Procedures |
|
| TR-1 | After a FEATURE race is completed, unless it is determined by track officials that more or less are required, selected finishers will go to impound; the number determined by the number of payouts plus one; [and the top SEVEN, from the survivor race]. These entrants will remain in impound until released by Track Technical Officials. . At no time after the kart is placed in the impound area can it be handled in any way, unless you have been instructed to remove it, or begin tear down. When in doubt, the best thing is to just stay away from the kart all together. If the kart leaves impound and has not been cleared to do so, by the tech official only, you will give up all rewards for that race. You can not remove your kart from the impound area and then bring it back under any circumstances, unless you are racing in another class, after which time you have to return the kart back to the impound area. If in doubt how you finished, then you should not exit the impound area. |
| TR-2 |
Any Protest MUST be made within 10 minutes of the checkered flag. The
cost is $75.00 of which, $50.00 will go to the protested entry, if found
legal; or goes back to the protester if not found legal. $25.00 goes to the
track. PLEASE NOTE: An entry may NOT be protested once the protested entry has been released from the scale/impound area. If you plan a protest, you need to notify the scale official and or the tech official before the protested entry is released from the post race inspection area. Once a kart is released from the area by a track official, a protest can NOT be made to that entry. The protesters engine will also be torn down by the track at the protesters expense. NO EXCEPTIONS! The protester can finish no worse than one position beyond the pay out spots. |
| TR-3 | The track has the option to tear down, and inspect for Tech violations; ANY entry at the entrant's own expense. Failure to allow tech is automatic disqualification, loss of all rewards and suspension for one race. |
| TR-4 | During the Tech Procedures, the inspected kart may have two representatives in the tech room. Two track officials may also be present. NO ONE ELSE is allowed in the tech barn during tech procedures. Violation of this rule will not be tolerated. Penalties can be placed if extra people are in the tech room. |
| TR-5 | If you are being checked for a restrictor plate, you MUST remove the entire motor and bring it in the tech barn IF advised to do so by a tech official. AT NO TIMES DO YOU REMOVE THE RESTRICTOR PLATE WITHOUT A TECH OFFICIAL PRESENT!!! |
| TR-6 | If you have any questions concerning any Tech Items, please ask the Technical Official. It is better to be safe than sorry. |
| TR-7 | If you change motors at any time after being safety-teched, the changed motor must be taken to the Tech Barn. Any motor change will also include a penalty to the entry, if done after qualifying or a heat race. If you change motors, you will be required to start on the rear of the next timed session in your class. |
| TR-8 |
All Karts are to be weighed after all heat races and feature races.
Failure to weigh will forfeit your starting place in the feature, or your
finishing place if not weighed after the feature,
unless kart is damaged to a point where weighing becomes impossible. If
you break on the track and pass the scale the most points you will get is
place points only. You will have only ONE attempt to weighing.
Once the kart is removed from the scales, it can not be reweighed. Jumping
up and down on the scales are not permitted. If you suspect there is
a problem with the scales do NOT remove your kart from the scales until a
track official has looked into the problem If you are black flagged for an un-sportsmanlike violation, then You will only receive 25 points. and weighing is unnecessary. Bottom line is to go ahead and weigh in any circumstances, or you will be penalized in most cases. |
| TR-9 | The Track and the Technical Official have the right to check the oil, tires, fuel, and or any part of the motor or chassis for violations at any time |
| TR-10 | Bolts will be painted on motors by track officials during pre event safety inspection. At least one carb bolt, one head bolt, and any other bolt determined by track officials to be critical to insure fairness to all racers will be painted and become a tech item. The Air Filter Adaptor will also be painted and is a non removable tech item following safety tech. You can NOT remove a painted bolt without first notifying a track official. A painted bolt that has been altered or removed is subject to immediate disqualification. |

Beginning
with the 2007 Race season we will take your 13 best finishes to determine
class championships. This will eliminate the "Provisional" system used in
the past. Your 13 top finishes will determine the final points standings for
the season. You will be able to monitor your progress on the website by
going to your respective class points standings sheet. This is also to keep the possibility of abuse to the integrity of the system to a minimum. We have 16 scheduled points races and we think giving the racers a 3 race loss margin is more than enough to correct problems with the old system. Good luck this season and thanks for racing at Atoka Raceway Park!!! |
